Regarding the plan of the Prime Minister’s plan to introduce electric vehicles in the country, the Ministry of Climate Change has completed the first electric vehicle policy and sent it to the cabinet for approval.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has the aim to introduce electric vehicles in the country to control the import of oil and reduce pollution in the air. The carbon emission creates pollution in the environment and the reason a thousand diseases. On the international level, the use of electric vehicle demand higher than the petrol vehicle. Regarding the aim of Prime Minister the Ministry of Climate Change has sent the first electric vehicle to the Cabinet for approval and the policy will check by the Prime Minister after his United State Visit. Ministry has the plan to manufacture electric vehicle production plants all across the country. The Ministry of Climate Change starts this project from Motorbikes and Rickshaws to convert from the combustion engine to the electric battery and the testing process of electric Rickshaw and motorbike complete, and now they sent a policy for cars, commercial vehicles, buses, vans, and trucks. Ministry has the plan to establish the electric battery stations with the change of 3000 CNG stations into electric battery stations.



Moreover, the Ministry believes that the electric vehicle beneficial for the environment and also helps full to the economy to control the import of oil and invest this money in other economic activities. The petrol price is increased in the international market and because of the devaluation of rupee value against dollar Pakistan pay a heavy amount on the import of oil. Ministry gives different policies to encourage the local auto industry and promote the auto sector of Pakistan.

The local auto industry has many issues with the production of an electric vehicle as they said they already face many problems and the sales of their vehicles down because the government imposed FED and other duty charges on vehicles and that is a reason manufacture companies increase the price of vehicles.
