Being a quite well known sedan in the FAW lineup ,The B50 has its roots deep in the FAW from the year 2009. This sedan is targeting in direction of the upper-middle class buyers in China, On the other hand the brand is also renowned for its reasonable price in export markets as well.
Well thought-out as one of the premium Chinese vehicles, The Besturn B50 is the FAW’s best-selling model since a period of 10 years or so. The B50 was debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2008 and went on sale on May 16, 2009.
Manufactured in collaboration with Italdesign Giugiaro, the B50 has Mazda6 platform at the same time as powered by a VW sourced 1.6 liter engine. FAW has collabrated with Mazda plus Volkswagen so the technology obtained to build up the B50 was a licensed techonology.
B50 was completely revamped by FAW in two models, standard and sport and debuted in August 2016. Spread amongst 2 models are the 3 engines available. The standard B50 equips a 1.6 liter 103hp or a 1.8 liter 139 hp engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speedautomatic transmission. The sport version known as the B50-RS is powered by a 1.4 literturbocharged engine generating 136hp and 220n-m mated to a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission.
On the 20th Anniversary of FAW it has debuted a limited Edition of the model in China which is obtainable in two forms.
- The 1.6 liter naturally aspirated special edition models have the manual transmission, brown paint, 20th anniversary logo and Scotland striped Seat.
- The 1.4 liter Turbo special edition models have the automatic transmission, red and black body color, exhaust pipe styling adjustment, 20thanniversary logo, D-Life car networking system, automatic air-conditioning, leather steering wheel and rear seat comfort optimizations.
Standard features consist of Euro IV compliant engines, Alloy rims (standard on all trims), heated exterior mirrors, Sunroof (standard on all trims), ABS+EBD, Driver/ Passenger & Side Airbags, Mp3 player, Bluetooth connectivity, Reversing sensors, Rear Camera, Remote key, Central locking and Engine Immobilizer etc.
