The first Honda City was introduced in 1981. It was a small hatchback to target the market of Japan, Europe, and Australia. The first Honda City was a 3 door hatchback. The first generation of Honda City launched in 1981 and 1986 Honda introduce its 2nd generation.
Honda City’s small hatchback available till 1993 and then its production was discontinued by the company to introduce City in the new style. A car stays in the people’s eye as long as it’s meet the need.
In Pakistan currently, the 5th generation of Honda City available, and in the global market 7th Generation is available for sale.
3rd Gen of Honda City:
In 1996 Honda introduced the first time City in Pakistan and that was its 3rd Generation. In Pakistan and City is a different name for the local auto market. Although already several sedans are available but Honda City was a unique name for customers. When its launch in Pakistan it did a great deal to damage the sale of Margalla. Before its arriving Margalla, Corolla, and Civic were the top-selling car in Pakistan and the craze of people. Its soft launch makes big competition in the local auto market.
After the launch of the City Margalla sale decline from 6000 units to 3000units. The sale of Margalla was higher as compared to Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla because the rice of this car is less as compared to Civic and Corolla. The first Honda City Pakistan is a well know stylish and modern Sedan AC, power windows, power steering, and many other advance options are available to hit the market.
Facelift Model:
Honda introduces a facelift model of City in 2000 that was came with all good features and specifications for its customers. Honda City is very famous in the local market because of its smooth comfortable driving with the latest features. It’s still available in our market for its stylish look.
Its 1.3liter engine power is paired with fuel injection. The facelift version is available in both transmission manual and automatic.
4nd Gen of Honda City Pakistan:
After introducing the facelift model in 2003 Honda Pakistan introduces its 4th generation in Pakistan that was known as Honda City 2nd Generation. The 4th generation was grown up with the latest style and modern look. It was completely different from the 3rd generation. The company has focused on fuel economy in this generation and increase fuel-efficient power in the engine.
Honda not only changed the exterior design they introduce Beige color first time in Honda City and that was a very attractive point for consumers.
Facelift Model:
Honda introduces 4th generation facelift in 2006. They improved the engine power and facelift introduced with 1.5liter V-TEC Steermatic. It came with 7 speed CVT that also offered the semi-automatic option to the driver. Unfortunately, Steermatic was not going successful in the Pakistan market. To promote the model Honda offers several options to its customers but they were never gained customer engagement.
5th Gen of Honda City Pakistan:
In 2009 Honda City 5th generation came in the market with great improvement. The look of the 5th generation is bold and aggressive as the market demand. Honda improves styling according to demand. It was equipped with 1.3liter V-TEC engine power that offers both options manual and automatic. The figure of 5th generation City was sharp and bold as compared to its previous generations.
Honda City Aspire:
In 2012 Honda introduced Honda City Aspire that was very attractive for our local market. The company introduces the Prosmatec Transmission option. City Aspire comes with all advanced features in which keyless-entry, alloy rims, leather interior, and many more functions.
