After announcing the plan to rebuild Lahore’s Kalma Chowk a few days ago, The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) started starts drown monitoring to improve traffic flow. The department has started traffic monitoring and tracking with drone cameras in an effort to improve traffic management and related issues.
Traffic Monitoring with Drone Camera:

As per the media report, a drone survey of the road has conducted as a preliminary experiment to monitor traffic on Mall Road. The survey has conducted in the presence of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muntazir Mehdi along with Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic Asif Siddique, and SP Shahzad Khan. to check road blockades, protests, and checkout alternative roads on Mall Road. The drone monitoring assessed roadblocks, protests, and alternative route plans.
The report added, the police can monitor traffic congestion, roadblocks, and other issues from a kilometer away using drones. According to SP Traffic Police Shahzad Khan, this will improve traffic flow and would be beneficial for both the public and the police.
Drone Monitoring To Improve Traffic Flow:

The police official said that initially, two police teams are monitoring the traffic through drones in different areas of the city. The department has taken appropriate training from experts to operate the drone and its hardware, software, and flight time. He continued by saying that the team faced massive congestion at Shahdara Chowk and decided to employ technology to know about traffic congestion, encroachments, and other difficulties in real-time.
In addition, the police department will create four teams for the drone monitoring system and assign them to various locations throughout Lahore. Furthermore, It’s a fantastic move on the part of the Lahore police to use modern technologies to solve problems.
Details of Drone Monitoring Plan:

The City Traffic Police Lahore declared they would keep an eye on traffic on Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, and Ferozepur Road on October 13. In addition, He added that we would be monitoring for automobiles that were polluting the environment and breaking traffic laws. The police will keep an eye out for protests, major events, rallies, and other significant activities on the highways. The department will also monitor illegal parking, one-way violations, illegal parking stands, and drone encroachments to improve traffic flow.
The traffic police would be shared the information with the relevant department so that urgent problems could be rectified. The Drone Monitoring Unit was established by CTO to make it fully operational and the concept will extend to other significant city routes after a successful experimental phase.
