Overview
A cheap petrol scheme is in process and Federal Government has collected the data from all provinces. Cheap petrol will be provided to Motorbikes, rickshaws, and Cars up to 800cc. This scheme will work by using the data from NADRA.
Provinces provide data on all registered bikes linked to NADRA. As per the report, the Excise and Taxation Department of Islamabad will cross-check the data and then start providing petrol according to the scheme.
All registered bikes, rickshaws, and cars up to 800cc will consider for the scheme and get a subsidy of Rs50/liter. The purpose of the scheme is to make petrol cheap for low-income employees and expensive for rich citizens.
The Balochistan Excise and Taxation Department initially provide data on 500,000 registered motorbikes for the federal government. The federal government evaluating the data accordingly to launch the scheme soon.
Cheap Petrol
Last month the government has announced to provide cheap petrol only for motorbikes, rickshaws and cars up to 800cc. The scheme is not only for papers but the Islamabad government working on it with the help of the Excise and Taxation department.
Ministry of State for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik stated that the government is plan to make petrol cheap for the poor by providing a Rs 50 per liter subsidy and expensive for the rich by charging an additional Rs 100/per liter.
Moreover, the relief in the petrol scheme is delayed due to some economical factors. After announcing the cheap petrol summary International Monetary Fund (IMF) show apprehensive about the plan and asked for the plan details. Probably the scheme is delayed due to the IMF interruption in the plan.

Since the government has announced the scheme motorbike owners waiting for the final announcement and process to get relief for petrol. Petrol prices are massively high in Pakistan and difficult for poor people to survive during this time period. Daily commuters are facing a thought time and spending a lot of amounts to travel for work.
