Overview
The change in GST percentage affects car prices. Changan car prices jacked up once again due to the increase of 25% in General Sales Tax. Honda, Toyota, KIA, Hyundai, and BAIC HAVAL have already presented their part of a price increase.
Changan’s four models are affected by the new GST increase which Changan Alsvin is including. The increase in car prices is affected by unfavorable economic conditions for automakers.
Moreover, automakers complain that the non-approval of CKD kits import is a big trouble in the manufacturing process. The State Bank of Pakistan does not approve requests and that’s why automakers observe several non-productive days in a month.
Changan Car Prices Update
Including the new 25% GST Changan increased car prices as mentioned below.
Changan Alsvin
Changan Alsvin is available in three different variants and the prices of all variants are affected by the GST.
- As per the new 25% GST Changan Alsvin 1.3L M/T base variant price increased by Rs. 220,000 and change its price from Rs. 3,899,000 to Rs. 4,149,000.
- Meanwhile, Changan Alsvin 1.5L DCT Comfort used to cost Rs. 4,199,000 but now it’s available for Rs. 4,699,000 as per the 25% GST increase which is Rs. 500,000 for this variant.
- The last one Alsvin 1.5L DCT AT Lumiere price has received the same increase of Rs. 500,000 as Alsvin 1.5L DCT Comfort and the new price for this variant is Rs. 4,999,000.
New Price of Changan Karvaan
Karvaan is available in two variants. Here are the prices:
- Karvaan Standard saw a jump of Rs. 30,000 in the old price and now its cost is Rs. 2,779,000.
- Changan Karvaan Plus price changed from Rs. 2,899,000 to Rs. 2,999,000.
Changan Oshan New Price
Oshan both variant prices are affected. Changan Oshan X7 Comfort saw a jump of Rs. 550,000 and the Oshan X7 FutureSense price hiked by Rs. 600,000.
- Oshan X7 Comfort new cost is Rs. 8,549,000 instead of Rs. 7,999,000.
- Similarly, Oshan X7 FutureSense old price was Rs. 8,599,000 but now you can buy it for Rs. 9,199,000.
Changan M9 Price
Changan M9 is also included in the tax jump price and the price has gone up by Rs. 80,000 and bringing its price to Rs. 2,529,000
Conclusion
Automakers offered their price jump part one by one. There is no need to ask the reason from automakers or give any opinion because the jump in GST for luxury items is a clear reason for the price hike season.
