Overview
The excitement of decline in car prices has ended and the prices are retrieved to go up because Changan has increased its car prices. Changan car prices have been increased by Rs1,20,000. The company has increased the prices of all its models which they offer in Pakistan. Under the new Auto Policy (2021-2026) government offer relief in taxes for all locally assembled cars. After these tax benefits, the prices of cars in Pakistan had come down and this had led to an increase in car sales. The new prices are applied from 25 August 2021.

Why Changan Car Prices Increased
Changan offers a variety of locally assembled vehicles in Pakistan. The vehicles by the company get massive popularity in the local automobile industry in a very short time. The company has never let the customers with confusion, why they increased the car prices. The Changan Pakistan Director of Sales and marketing Syed Shabbiruddin has said 70% to 80% imported steel is required to made-up a typical passenger car. He said due to COVID-19, the global shipment cost has gone up and we have no other way left to increase the cost of production to continue serving our customers. The fallout of the rising shipment cost and steel prices is the reason for the car price increase. Moreover, he said the company hoped that dealers will understand the situation and better explain it to customers.

New Changan Car Prices
The company has mentioned that all the government and bank financing customers will be accepted on old prices till the date 27 August 2021 with payment instrument details. The customers who booked cars on August 24, 2021, with payment instruments can also receive the cars with old prices. The increase in global shipment cost affects the car prices and most likely all car manufacturers will increase the price to continue production. This is the only option to continue production by increasing the made-up cost. The increasing of these costs putting pressure on the automakers to increase the prices of the cars. The prices f cars can be stable when the exchange rate and other factors will be stable that affect the cost.
