Auto Industrialist Asked to Hold up EV Policy

Electric Vehicle policy has been working very fast in Pakistan because the government has personally involved in it. As all, we know that after the outbreak COVID-19 in Pakistan the production plants are closed. The government has pass order to closed production plants.

The current situation of auto production is very critical in Pakistan. Auto industrialist asks to hold up EV policy and demand for discussion time. Stakeholders need some time for discussion and request to the government to postpone EV plan on next year. All the dealership stores are closed. The launching of new models has also postponed in Pakistan. The auto industry already surviving in the loss in this situation the EVs policy will not helpful for revenue.

The demand for the vehicle will take time to back on its position. The current situation is a cause of economical instability. Moreover, they said in this situation is not possible that consumer demand for an electric vehicle. It is better to reschedule EV policy next year.

The lockdown cause to fall our economy and its impact on consumer purchasing power. The demand for the vehicle this year will be going slow. In this situation, the investment in electric vehicles will not good for the stakeholders.

PAK Suzuki and Honda Atlas have a plan for hybrid and electric vehicle policy for 2020-2015. Under the current situation, it’s not good for investing in it. Both are called the Engineering Development Board (EDB) to delay the hybrid and EV policy. The policy is arranged for increasing the sale and provide advance technology to the local auto industry.

In the international auto market, electric vehicle production is very fast. The demand for EVs is very high because these vehicles are good in all aspects.

The government has the plan to implement EV policy to increase the revenue and take a step into the advance technology. The import of oil in Pakistan is very high to reduce the ration of oil import government plan EV policy.
