Once again All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association is going on strike all over the country because the their requests were turned down again by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).Their demand is that the transportation freight rate should be increased. They also demanded that there should be a ban on the oil tankers that transport of the oil up to 60,000 liters. And said that only 36,000 liters of oil should be allowed to be transported.

There has been a decrement of about 20,000 oil tankers transport among the country and this is due to the factor of strike. And hence there seems a shortage of oil in the country. The one to get suffered in this all strike among OGRA and Tankers Association will be the poor people.
In the previous year, Same thing happened and the The Tankers Association with Oil Tankers Contractor Owners Association called out a strike that took place for about three days continuously. The strike made the whole country deprived of oil. The Associations carried out strike owing to the new tanker fitness rule put forward by OGRS and fines by the Motorway Police.

This fitness regulation was put in action subsequent to the tragic incident of Ahmedpur Sharqia where 200 people died when they were trying to gather oil from an inverted oil tanker.
At the end of the day, the both parties, OGRA and All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association should develop some harmony among them by talking things out .This will not only be beneficial for them but also be fruitful for all the motorists.
