Overview:
The motor Co MG Pakistan has recently launched a Ramadam Offer on its Crossover SUV, MG HS Essence. In a social media post, MG announced to gear up for Eid festivities by simply availing of the Ramadam offer to book brand new MG HS at the good price of Rs. 8,199,000 PKR (which is the ex-Factory price).
Although! The offer is for a limited time, and terms and conditions are applied.
The MG Pakistan officials stated that the company has boldly decided to facilitate the customers ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. However, MG HS’s price has not been increased in respect of Ramadan. It is important to mention that major car companies in Pakistan have introduced a price hike after the implementation of 25% GST on luxury items from March 8, 2023.
25% GST Implemented on Luxuries:
The finance minister announced in his speech on Finance Act 2023 that our government is imposing a 25% (GST) General Sales Tax on luxury items. Surprisingly, the 1400cc cars, All SUVs and CUVs, and 4×4 Cabin vehicles were included in the Luxury items.
It could be understandable that SUVs and 4×4 automotive could be luxury items. But 1400cc and above cars were a shocker as these cars are majorly considered as cars of the middle class. After the announcement, car manufacturing companies have been hiking their prices. For, some of the companies these are third and fourth price hikes, which is highlighting the industry’s plight.
The MG has decided to hold the hike till the end of Ramadan month. The company is offering MG HS Essence at the current ex-factory price. If you are interested in locally assembled HS at the current rate, this might be the right time.
