Today we are going to share with you the latest news for the Sindh people, People’s Bus Service in Sindh will soon launch a mobile app. As per the social media update, Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that a smartphone app for the Peoples Bus Service will launched on November 30 along with the installation of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in the buses.
Mobile App For Public Bus Service:
The Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon presided over the meeting in view of the Launch Mobile App for Public Bus Service. The meeting has attended by the Project Director of the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), Sohaib Shafiq, and the Managing Director (MD) of Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA), Captain Altaf Hussain Sario. During the meeting, the participants reviewed the operations of the bus service, new routes, ITS, the creation of a command and control room (CCR), and the use of a mobile app.
During the meeting, the minister said that the app would help citizens track the live location of buses and provide them an opportunity to make online payments. He also mentioned that CCTV cameras, live tracking, and monitoring services will deployed under the ITS system. He added that through the new software, users will also be able to activate their People’s Bus Service Cards.
Mobile App Functions:
According to the media report, the app will have three functions: bus routes, schedules, and ticket prices so that passengers can plan their journeys as per the details provided. The app’s online payment feature will be released later in December of this year. This mobile app will allow travelers to pay their fees via a QR code or the app itself. Moreover, the new mobile app will also facilitate the use of People’s Bus Service Cards that making it easier for people to use public transport.
