According to the latest update, Honda’s luxury brand Acura plans to lead parent company Honda Motor Co in moving away from its gasoline engine lineup and move directly into electric vehicle production. Honda expects to introduce EVs and hybrids side by side, while Acura wants to move quickly toward battery-electric vehicles forward by skipping transitory hybrid powertrains.
Acura Electrification Lineup:
Acura believes that its EVs lineup will make up more than half of its total output by 2030. The upcoming Acura EVs includes the following vehicles:
Electrical crossover: Acura first unnamed crossover will arrive in 2024 that based on a Common Motors platform and a GM ultium battery pack and will also has brand-specific styling.
MDX: The fourth generation of Acura’s MDX three-row crossover was redesigned for 2022, it will get refreshed in 2026 that could adopt a mild hybrid variant and in 2027 it might come in an all-electric guise.
NSX: A limited-edition 2022 NSX Kind S can manufacture at Honda’s Efficiency Center. The supercar’s final design will feature a Gotham Gray matte paint finish that is exclusive to the engine.
RDX: The RDX compact crossover will redesign for 2027 that could have a hybrid powertrain that uses the same fourth-generation two-motor hybrid electric system.
TLX: Acura’s midsize sedan redesigned on an all-new platform for the 2021 model year, which might look like an EV after 2030. The sedan will undergo a minor refresh in 2026.
Integra: It has not confirmed that what role the Integra will play in Acura’s electrical future. It expected that a slight update in 2025 may bring a hybrid powertrain, and by the end of the decade, the car may become entirely electric.
