This is the latest update on the suspension of a driver’s license for violating traffic rules. Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has decided to suspend the driver’s license of frequent law breakers. The move has adopted to maintain the traffic discipline and a safe road environment in the city. In order to avert deadly accidents and preserve lives.
Islamabad Traffic Police Implement Accountability Mechanism:
According to the media report, the senior Superintendent of traffic police Syed Mustafa Tanveer stated that the ITP has implemented a new system of accountability for persons who break traffic laws. The department would evaluate the digital challan record on a regular basis in order to identify frequent law breakers and to suspend their driving licenses.
Examination of Digital Chalan Record:
In its first operation after the implementation of the system, the Islamabad Traffic Police has identified 17 persons who have frequently violated the law under sections 15 and 16 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance. Six of the identified persons out of 17 have ordered to take traffic rules and road safety classes for five days. While the remaining 11 are facing legal action, including driver’s license suspension.
SSP Syed Mustafa Tanveer emphasizes people obey traffic laws. If they do not, their driver’s licenses will be revoked by the ITP due to repeated infractions. He added the department will have no tolerance for any traffic rule violations going forward. Moreover, the habitual violators will face strict action from the ITP.
