Indus Motors (IMC) has unveiled the 2018 Camry hybrid in Pakistan. The hybrid version comes equipped with a reduced price of PKR 82.99 for the lower grade model and PKR 84.99 lac for the higher grade version, in view of the fact that the Camry (imported) was formerly offered for over PKR 121.5 lac.
The hybrid version is powered by a 2.5 liter engine supported by a Permanent Magnet Motor mated to a 6 Speed Sequential Shift CVT gearbox. The 2.5 liter A25A-FXS engine is Euro V emission accommodating.
The 2018 model that is the 8th generation of Camry coded as XV70 is assembled on Toyota New Global Architecture Platform, that is also shared with the most recent Toyota Prius hybrid hatchback and Toyota C-HR crossover SUV. The XV70 Camry was brought in at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in January 2017. It was commenced in Japan on 10th July 2017, in Australia on 21st November 2017 and will also be unveiled in other Asian markets soon.
The new Camry comes equipped with features for example:
- Parking Assist with SONAR sensors, Panoramic Roof, 6 SRS Airbags(Driver. Passenger and Curtain Airbags), ABS,
- Vehicle Stability Control, Brake hold, TRC, Hill Start Assist Control, 18 inchesAlloy Wheels (235/45 R18), Smart key entry with answer back function, Push start, smart entry system, Auto-leveling Bi beam LED Headlamps with Day Time Running lamps (DRLs) and Headlamp washer,
- LED Fog lamps, automatic rain sensing wipers, Impact sensing fuel cut, Immobilizer with alarm and Auto retractable side view mirrors with Defogger etc.
Coming to the interior of 2018 Camry ,it gets the Leather Interior with the alternative of Black or Beige color coding, LED Interior illumination, Multifunction Steering Wheel for Audio, MID, Phone, Voice Control and Cruise Control switches, Electro chromatic rear view mirror, Powered rear sun-shade, Dual zone automatic climate control, Powered Seat adjustment with electric lumbar adjustment for driver, 7 inches MID, 8 inch entertainment system with DVD, Reverse Camera and 6 speakers etc.
The Camry will face instantaneous competition from the Audi A6 with 1.8 TFSI engine the price of which ranges between PKR 75.0 lac to PKR 89.1 lac.
