Overview
Punjab Transport Department (PTD) is moving toward a modernized system and in this regard, they announced a digital challan system for Punjab. Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) announced the news earlier which means the work is started on it. Traffic management systems will become stronger and smoother by adopting modern technology.
Punjab Traffic Policy doing a great job of reducing accidents and violations across the province. Their mission of zero tolerance delivers great results and helps the authority to succeed mission. A smooth traffic system is necessary to reduce the accident ratio, and authorities use all possible and successful control on it.
Digital Challan System
Driven modern technology approach helps to make the system more efficient and keener to collect data and issue challans in an appropriate way. At the first stage of the digital challan, they will move the manual fines into the e-challan system.
Last November Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr. Assad Malhi first time introduced the digital challan system as a pilot project on The Mall.
In the explaining words, Assad Malhi talked about the user-friendly system that helps to manage traffic violations and accuracy in recording. Moreover, he explained that “By entering ID card or vehicle number in this app all data will be auto-filled”.
A strong and efficient traffic management system is necessary and its contribution helps in increasing transparency and accountability.
Conclusion
Punjab Traffic Authority contributes its high part to the smooth traffic system and controlling traffic violations. They are doing active work duty all over the province, especially in Lahore. The results of their hard work are shown clearly as the road accident ratio becomes very low compared to the previous months. Converting the entire system into modern technology helps authorities to gather data efficiently. Adopting modern technology is really a need because unfortunately, we are very late for technology.
