Overview

Rules violation is no easier for anyone. Motorway Police has started an awareness campaign of increasing fines on motorways against rules violations. Traffic violation on motorways become more burdens to you if you do not take them seriously.

Meanwhile, the new fines are not implemented yet but from 1st October they will follow the new fines as per the statement. Increasing the fine on the motorway help to reduce traffic violation which is necessary to make motorway driving secure for everyone.

New Fine For Motorway and Highway

According to the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP). They announced seven new rules for highways and motorways across the country.

  • Over speeding fines have been increased from Rs. 750 to Rs. 2500.
  • The previous fine on wring overtake was Rs 300 now it would be charged at Rs. 1500.
  • Vehicles driving with broken and non-functional headlights will pay Rs. 5,000 fine against the old fine of Rs. 500.
  • Meanwhile, rash and careless driving will charge you Rs. 1500 compared to Rs. 300.
  • Without a driving license fine has been changed from Rs. 750 to Rs. 5,000.
  • Fancy number plates car drivers will pay a fine of Rs. 1,000.
  • A car driver with HID lights will pay Rs. 2,000 fine to the Motorway Police.
  • Driving a car without registration caused of Rs. 2,000 fine from 1st October 2023.

Conclusion

Increasing fines on Motorway and Highways has been decided during the recent meeting of NHMP. This is necessary to control the traffic violation on the motorway and ensure smooth driving. The recent crashes on the motorway had caused several lives lost and several serious injuries. Authorities have started campaigns before the implementation to aware drivers about the new heavy fines.
