Overview
The first locally made Corolla Cross is presented to PM Shehbaz Sharif. A delegation led by the Vice Chairman Shinji Yanagi and Chief Executive Ali Asghar Jamali showed the first Pakistan-made Corolla Cross HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle). Toyota Asia President, Yoshiki Konishi also attended the meeting.
The PM ensures upholding the HEV incentives in Auto Policy 2021-26. He expressed his accolade to IMC regarding this initiative step taken for Pakistan’s automotive industry. Prime Minister emphasizes the further improvement in the localization of vehicles with export. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also took part in the appreciation of IMC and stated it would be great for our economy and environment to increase the number of locally made HEV.
Toyota Asia’s President took part in the speech and thankful to the Pakistan and government for their support of Toyota over the last three decades. He said I feel the Corolla, a product that is dear to my heart, has become a “People’s Car” in Pakistan.
Expected Launch
The report has confirmed that Toyota successfully produced the first Locally assembled Corolla Cross Hybrid in Pakistan. This is a most awaited model Pakistan people waiting for a long time. Last year company announced the vehicle will launch in Pakistan in June-July 2023. The time IMC given is around. But the ongoing situation has made hurdles for the company to go as per the plan announced last year.
Despite the all worries and hurdles of the automotive industry, the newcomer Corolla Cross hybrid will be an enjoyable news to celebrate the first environment-friendly vehicle. IMC Toyota proved its dedication to enhancing vehicle production in Pakistan with this new investment.

Pakistan Toyota has not disclosed the information about the vehicle. Crossover specifications and features will be confirmed once the vehicle will be launched. We are expecting modern and advanced features from this new car as it is made with modern technology HEV. The presentation to PM confirms that Toyota passed the hurdles of making a first unit. The remaining process will be easy for them.
