Indus Motors (IMC) is planning to update the Toyota Fortuner in Pakistan shortly. IMC brought in the first generation of the SUV in 2013 whereas it was substituted by the current generation (AN160) in late 2016.The 2018 models will present a lot of enhancement over the existing one, including these best features:
Diesel Engine
The Toyota Fortuner comes equipped with a 2.7 liter 2TR-FE petrol engine in Pakistan; on the other hand IMC will now be bringing in the 2.8 liter 1GD-FTV engine. The diesel engine is the better one both when it comes to power and economy figures when evaluated to its petrol equivalent. Whereas both the engines are alike in terms of horsepower, it is the torque that creates an extensive difference as the 1GD-FTV diesel churns out an astounding 420nm of torque when evaluated to just 240nm of the 2TR-FE petrol variant. The fuel economy of the diesel version is 12km/l whereas 8km/liter of the petrol version.
Engine Start/ Stop Button
The innovative Fortuner will now offer an engine start/ stop button. The Push button launch makes turning the car on and off easier using a key fob unique to the driver.
Power Tailgate
The new Fortuner comes with Power Tailgate that will automatically open and close the tailgate by means of just a touch button. The tailgate is intended to automatically reverse as it senses a hindrance when it is opening or closing. Additionally in a power failure situation, the tailgate can furthermore be lifted up and lowered manually.
Smart Entry
The 2018 Fortuner will also show off a Smart Entry system, by means of which you can lock and unlock the doors. You can start the engine only by carrying the Smart key anywhere on your body/ in your pocket and essentially not in your hand. The system takes in a wireless technology to “recognize” as both the key and the vehicle are contained by close proximity to one another.
Welcome Lamps
A new side mirror comprises of a light that illuminate the ground underneath your car.
Other improvements in the Fortuner will comprise silver colored side step covers rather than black, LED fog lamps than of halogen units, door courtesy lamps on all 4 doors, Vehicle Stability Control, Down-hill Assist Control and diverse Speedometer illuminations.
These add-ons are going to make the Fortuner an even good-looking package for the SUV lovers. IMC is yet to make known the official prices of the new Fortuner Diesel at the same time as formal launch of the vehicle is predictable towards the end of this month.
