The all-new FAW A50 has been unveiled to Chinese media at the forefront of its formal launch anticipated towards the end of this year. With understandable Volkswagen design influences, the A50 is certainly the finest looking FAW sedan. FAW is also a joint venture partner of VW in China.

Exterior wise the A50 sedan shows off a nice & clean design language. It has a 3-bar grille set in with FAW winged logo up front, an integrated rear spoiler at the back with a bumper that entirely hides the tail pipe, plus black claddings under front and rear bumpers & the side skirts.

For the sake of judgment its bigger in dimensions as evaluated with the 5th gen Honda City we have here, but somewhat shorter in length & width but stands taller than the 11th gen Toyota Corolla. The 2610mm wheelbase again sits among the City & Corolla.

Coming to the inside, the A50 is equipped with a multi-function steering wheel and a 9 inch touch screen with a multimedia entertainment audio and video system, counting features for example voice control, infotainment, smart navigation and driving assistance.
It also has an engine start/ stop system, keyless smart entry system, engine immobilizer, reversing camera and sunroof etc. Safety equipment includes Driver/ Passenger Airbags, ABS with EBD, TSC (Traction Control System), and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System).

The A50 sedan is power-driven by either a 122hp 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, or an 119hp 1.0 liter Turbocharged unit with either a 6-speedmanual or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT).
FAW does have some serious plans to bring in the A50 sedan in emerging markets almost certainly by 2019. Official prices are yet to be unveiled however it’s speculated to start off by approximately 60,000 yuan (PKR 9.42 lac).
